In 2008, 2,537 entries were submitted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize for consideration by a selection panel which comprised Tony Bevan, Artist; Emma Dexter, Director of Exhibitions at Timothy Taylor Gallery & Editor of Vitamin D (Phaidon); and John McDonald, Art Critic of the Sydney Morning Herald.
The shortlist of 63 drawings included work by 54 highly regarded, established artists as well as relative newcomers and students fresh from art school.
First Prize (£6,000): Warren Baldwin
Second Prize (£3,000): Lia Anna Hennig
Student Prize (£1,000): Tobias Teschner
Student Prize (£1,000): Aline von der Assen

A panel discussion was held with Jerwood Drawing Prize 2008 Prize winners, Warren Baldwin (First Prize) and Lia Anna Hennig (Second Prize). The artists were joined by Professor Anita Taylor.

As part of the nationwide Campaign for Drawing during October, Jerwood Space ran a special afternoon of drawing activities where the public were given the chance to join artists from the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2008 including; Annabel Dover, Andrew Penketh and Ben Coode-Adams.
